Carol Sue Gooden Beale, 73, formerly of Buckhannon West Virginia, passed away at her home in Roanoke Rapids, NC, on Saturday, July 9, 2016.

She was the daughter the late James Earl Gooden. Carol was also preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Beale.

Carol Was retired from the Federal Government.

She is survived by her mother, Alice Garnetta Gooden of Buckhannon, West Virginia; her daughter, Alice L. Cummings of Roanoke Rapids, NC; her two sons, Mark Ervin Light and his wife, Janice of Dearing, GA, and Barry Light of North Augusta, SC; her three grandchildren, Amanda Light, Kelsey Light, and Christopher Thomas, and her two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service commemorating Carol's life will be held at a later time with family and friends in Buckhannon, West Virginia.

Arrangements are being handled by Askew Funeral and Cremation Services of Roanoke Rapids, NC.
